Apple Adds More TV Shows
More TV Shows at the struck a deal with ABC/Disney to get episodes of Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Night Stalker online, and available for download for $1.99 per episode. I’ve been salivating over the idea of more content—would the WB sign up, what about USA, TNT, and or HBO or Showtime? The truth is I love TV, I just don’t like watching it.
What I mean is, I love watching episodes of TV, and my favorite networks are the WB, TNT, USA, UPN, Showtime, and HBO; then random viewings of FOX, NBC, etc. But I don’t like being kept to schedule. I just don’t. I’ve probably just tasted too much freedom, when people started posting TV episodes online. All of a sudden, I could be an Alias fan, and never watch a single episode at a scheduled day and time. Of course, this just got exasperbated by the invention of TV on DVD. I own no less than 15 different TV series on DVD. They range from shows I love and watched religiously— Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel, Highlander, and Wonderfalls— to shows I was interested in but never really focused on until they came out on DVD— Alias, 24, Roswell, Smallville. Also let’s not forget the shows that I wouldn’t normally have access to in America, like Bad Girls and other British TV.
So imagine my surprise and joy, when I click into iTunes Music Store this morning, to further debate whether or not to purchase the 1996 Original Broadway Cast Soundtrack for Rent, which I just reviewed. I should clarify, the mental debate was more on the lines of, “I should get it today! No. Wait until next week, after you’ve paid your credit card bills. Now. Wait. Now. Wait.” Okay, you see. But there facing me, was an image of Monk—I love Monk. The defective detective. It’s a great show, but with the combination of USA moving it around, and very short seasons, it was just a hassle to watch. But now, I can download. And what about, Surface. I’ve seen the commercials. It looks interesting, but not so much, that I’d look up what day and time it comes on. But now I’ve just added the episodes 1 & 2 to my shopping cart.
O’ this is going to be fun. Well, and now of course, since I’m spending randomly on TV Shows I don’t need, and never watched religiously, I might as well grab that Original Broadway Cast Soundtrack for Rent. Now!
