Book Reviews vs Podcasts

Well, if you hadn't noticed. The top navigation bar (the orange bar with white text), I had a listing for Podcasts. The goal was twofold:

First and primarily, there was the issue, that while I read a lot, I wasn't writing anything about books. Mostly because, I'm not a big fan of traditional book reviews. I like to know what excited someone about a book, to if it might excite me as well, but I don't need or like critiques that spend so much time analyzing the authors writing, that they forget to mention is the book was interesting. So my goal was to talk about books, and what excited me, or confounded me about particular books.

Second, since I wasn't writing, I thought, "...well, let's shame myself into podcasting." If I put the link up, I'd be compelled to actually post something, and I figured talking about books might be easier than writing.

Well, apparently, my shame knows no bounds, because after a few months, I didn't post a single podcast. In my defense, I did actually complete one. I just didn't like my record voice, so trashed it.

So, once faced with the prospect of having to come up with a "radio" voice, I decided, writing wasn't such a bad option. So now you have it. A brand new Book section of Wide-eyed & Laughing. There are just four reviews right now, but I hope to bang out another four or five from books, I read last month; and then just get into some semi-regular posting schedule.

But hopefully, someone will enjoy the reviews, and maybe even enjoy the books.
