Buffy Rocks!

... but I do know that I'm not the only one whose Gmail inbox attracts invitation beggars like the Sunnydale Hellmouth attracts undead minions determined to start an apocalypse. An apocalypse, because apparently there are quite a lot of them.

Tomas over at Jogin.com has, perhaps unwittingly, encouraged his Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans to speak up.  And I know as a ardent Buffy fan, there’s nothing more that I like then exposing on the greatness that is and was Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS).

Really, the conversation was about peoples rabid need for GMail invites, but Tomas snuck in some Buffy references, and its off to the Buffy races.

I find I’m literally restraining myself to not go on and on about Buffy as one by one the various comments just bring up such joyful memories. So you my readers must suffer my restraint. Don’t be afraid, I’ll only wax poetically for a few moments, then not mention it again. Well again today. Not again forever.

Buffy! Ahhh, when TV was good. When I use to place warnings out to friends and family, “Unless you’re calling to share your thoughts on the current Buffy episode, DON’T CALL ME during a Buffy episode.” My standing Tuesday night commitment took precedent over all other commitments. Meeting for women in technology, sorry can’t make Tuesday night. A sneak preview for Mac OS X Jaguar, on Tuesday??!! I love you Apple, but hey I’ll get to play with the system when it comes out. Nonprofit Board of Director meetings, hhhmmm, I only ever missed Tuesday meetings, I wonder why. Yes, these are actually things I skipped in favor of Buffy.

Okay, I’m ready to be sensible again.

I’m not kidding, nor exaggerating, when I say that Buffy was the best tv series ever created.

The only thing that sucks about Buffy is the fact that it’s cancelled and that we’ll never see another fresh episode of Buffy with the original scoobie gang cast again.

The first thought that came to my mind after I had watched the series finale was that I’d never ever again watch a series as great as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, it’s all downhill from here. It was kind of sad.

The upside is that I’ve only seen the complete series once. I figure that I can watch it at least two times more and still enjoy it like I’ve never enjoyed any other tv show.

I’m in total agreement with you. Never has a love affair with a television show lasted so long. Buffy is and was just utterly amazing. I often pity people who never let it become a part of their lives. I was so sad to see the series finale.

I’ve forewarn you, I’ve managed to watch the series practically in it’s entirety four or five times, before I started skipping to favorite episodes. I’m probably now content to not see it again for a full year or so, but have no doubt, one day i’ll break out the DVDs, watch “Welcome to the Hellmouth” and be drawn in for another couple of weeks, as I go through episode after amazing episode again.
