Fall in Schenk Atwood
One of the things I love most about being back in Madison, is the opportunity to appreciate the things around me. With my trusty Canon PowerShot, I try to take time during walks to just take pleasure in my environment. When I was in San Francisco, I missed “seasons” the most —the lack of color changes, especially the brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows highlighted by greens and blues of fall. Madison provides all this, especially my neighborhood with the its massive amounts of green space, enhanced by various waterways.
So here’s a collection of 38 photos, highlighting the fall season in my neighborhood, Schenk-Atwood of Madison, Wisconsin. Between, the parks, the lakes, the river, and creeks, and especially the gardens, fall was quite the thing of beauty. My photos, probably don’t do it justice, especially since I tend to have a fascination with leafs and trees.
Entrance Ways are interesting things. I’m not certain most city planners give them much thought, but Madison is full of little touches here and there, that can be directly attributed to the city planners, politics and activist. The entire Schenk-Atwood neighborhood with it’s plethora of parks and green spaces a reflection of individuals with vision and insight who wished to insure that factories and apartment buildings wouldn’t overrun the neighborhood.
