Requesting Rufus
I just had to place a request to Apple via the iTunes Music Store to add Rufus Wainwright to their collection. Loudon Wainwright is already there. I believe he got added when Rounder was added as one of the more than 200 indie labels to join iTMS. But Rufus, sigh Rufus. I love Rufus, and I want the new album, badly. But I don’t want the CD. I’d rather have it directly digital. Rufus is on Dreamworks label. The same label as the recently deceased Elliott Smith. Dreamworks has some interesting artist, a mixed of defiantly independents and on the cusp of pop stardom artist. Definitely seeing Smith and Wainwright on the same label as Alien Ant Farm and Nelly Furtado is odd, but then decidely more surreal when you see that Lifehouse, LEN, Chris Rock and the Isley Brothers are also on the same label.
Anyway, iTMS has Elliot Smith albums from Kill Rock Stars, not from Dreamworks, and as far as I can tell nothing from Dreamworks is part of iTMS. Though it would be nice if I could do a label search, which you can’t do in iTMS.
