Experience the wonder of strolling through a tropical forest on a search for fleeing butterflies. Live butterflies emerge from chrysalises daily in Olbrich Garden’s Bolz Conservatory. July 20-August 14, 2005 10am to 4pm —Olbrich Garden Events Calendar

Every year Olbrich Garden presents Blooming Butterflies— a month-long event where butterflies escape their chrysalises and roam free in the conservatory. It’s a beautiful and wonderful event. The butterflies come from the collection of Dan Capps. Dan provides 1/30th extensive collection. Capps has traveled around the world to build the most impressive traveling display of exotic insects in North America. I’m hoping to take a series of photos. The Dryas julias are the most accommodating in getting their picture taken, but hopefully, I’ll get some good shots of some of the other species as well. So more pictures to come.

The gallery so far can be viewed at Blooming Butterflies in the Gallery section.
