Three New Photo Galleries

Introduced the Gallery section yesterday, and today, I’ve transitioned three galleries for your viewing pleasure.

There’s “Atwood in the AM”. Photo’s of my neighborhood, Atwood-Schenk Neighborhood in Madison, WI.; images from my friend Jane’s Baby Shower, and photo’s from Desert Springs, CA where I took a vacation a few years back.

I’m using Expression Engine (EE) by pMachine. In version 1.2.1 they introduced a Image Management Module that is very nice and easy to use. It probably doesn’t offer as much flexibility as sights like Flickr, but the benefits are that your photos are on your website, with ease.

It handles individual or batch photo processing. Automatically creates thumbnails and medium size images. I added a small step so that the full_size image, is actually just a large image, since most of my images are uploaded at high resolution.

Now that I have the Image Module installed and running, I can imagine taking and transferring more pictures to the site. Unfortunately, I’m not the best photographer in the world, and my interests seem to lie in landscapes, animals, and architecture far more than people. But that said, it will be interesting to see how the collections grow over time.
